The Wild Sweet Pea is a showy type of flower which has flowers blossoming in bright pink to deep purple hues and emits a sweet scent across the landscape of Alaska, USA. The flowers on the Wild Sweet Pea grow between 1/4 to 3/8 inches wide and 3/4 to 1 1/4 inches long in a pea shape cluster at the top of the stem.

Each blossoming flower has 5 petals and a seed pod with 6 round sections with horizontal veins running through them. The leaves on the Wild Sweet Pea are separated into 7 to 15 sharp oval shaped leaflets which are blanketed with silver hairs.

Wild Sweet Peas flourish on rocky slopes or on river bars throughout most of interior Alaska and along the North Slope. Blossoming from May to early July, the brilliant colored flowers can be seen for some distance across the open landscape of Alaska, USA.
