A wild Iris growing near Eklutan, Alaska where the soil is extremely wet during the Spring season, drying out considerably during Summer with periodic rainfalls keeping it moist. The Alaskan climate is ideal for the wild iris as their Native range is Northeastern Asia, the Yukon and Alaska as they do not grow well in the warmer climates.
