Sitting amongst the wilderness vegetation in Yellowstone National Park, a Western Meadowlark performs for the camera, singing at the top of his lungs. The Western Meadowlark has bright yellow hues along its underparts running upwards under his beak with a black "V" marking on its breast. The top of their plumage and heads are light brown in color with black streaks throughout.
The Western Meadowlark is a species of bird which is still very abundant with a slight variation in numbers on the downward slope. Both male and females species grow to be about 6-10 inches and a total of about 3.14 to 4.06 ounces in weight.
Enjoying the day in Yellowstone National Park, this bird has its long pointed bill open as it belts out it flute-like warbled song which ends in a gurgling type of whistle.
