The Discovery Trading Post and a ride aboard the riverboat is a part of the tourism in Fairbanks, Alaska.

When visitors disembark from the cruise ships which travel to Fairbanks, Alaska, there are many types of tourism organizations available. The Discovery Trading Post has a gift shop where unique goods are displayed and just outside the building, board the Alaskan sternwheeler, The Riverboat Discovery for a journey back in time along the Tanana and Chena Rivers.

These tours aboard the riverboat are approximately three and a half hours in length. You pass the beautiful wilderness of Alaska and wildlife feeds along the banks with a stop at a Chena Indian village where you can learn about their tradition and culture.
