Toklat River Crossing Denali National Park Alaska

A hiker uses all his power while crossing the raging Toklat River in Denali National Park, Alaska to ensure he keeps upright and does not get swept down the river.

Many trails throughout Denali National Park in Alaska, USA are easy while hiking but this hiker decides to attempt fate while crossing the fury of the Toklat River. The sides of the river are wide gravel beds with the steep mountain ridges, glaciers and dry tundra surrounding the region.

There are many hiking trails in Denali National Park which do not require crossing the Toklat River and only properly trained and equipped hikers should risk this when the river is raging. Other areas along the Toklat River are simple to cross as the water flows at a more gentler pace.

Grizzly Bears are hikers main concern especially when they are on the prowl for food and staying in open areas is best so that there are visible from a distance.
