A beautiful lighting reflects off the calm surface of Tangle Lakes along the Denali Highway in Alaska, USA as the landscape displays its vibrant hues of Autumn and the snow covered peaks of the mountains adorn the backdrop. A man dressed in appropriate fishing gear, stands ankle deep in Tangle Lakes casting his fly fishing rod.
While fly fishing in Tangle Lakes, one may be lucky enough to snag an Arctic Grayling, Lake Trout or Whitefish. A series of long, narrow lakes make up the region with the first two forming the headwaters of the Delta River where many canoe, hike or mountain bike through the wilderness instead of fly fishing.
There are two ways into Tangle Lakes and the Alaskan wilderness, one is from the west at the town of Cantwell where a gravel road takes you 100 miles plus into the area. The other is from the eastern end which is only 22 miles on a paved road, the route which most take to reach the beauty of the Tangle Lakes. Autumn is one of the prettiest times of year around the Tangle Lakes when beautiful hues of changing plant life surrounds you.
