The Chugach National Forest in Alaska, USA is beautiful during the summer months when the fireweed blossoms and the other flower species flourish. This lonely fireweed plant is losing its flowers as summer nears its end which will soon bring the cold fall mornings to the Chugach National Forest.
The flowers on the base of this fireweed plant are still very much in full bloom, but the petals are starting to droop before dropping off. A few remaining buds are still attempting to open leaving some color to the Chugach National Forest.
Common Fireweed, Cordova, Copper River Delta, Chugach National Forest, Alaska.
