The cones on the Sitka Spruce along the coastal shores of Prince William Sound near Cordova, Alaska start to appear in June after the climate becomes warmer. The cones hang down off the branches of the Sitka Spruce tree in their cylindrical shape growing to be between five and eleven centimeters long.
