Bright red hues explode from a crate full of ripe strawberries which have been freshly picked and are ready for sale. Just looking at these strawberries sends the taste buds soaring for a bowl full of freshly picked fruit.
A technique for growing strawberries in Alaska has been perfected which consists of high-yielding, everbearing strawberries using plastic mulch and row covers. The strawberries are ripe around the middle of July and extends until the freezing climates hit Alaska. Growing strawberries in this way creates very clean fruit and when it is time for them to be picked, the strawberries pull off much easier with hardly any rot appearing.
