Coxe Glacier is a beautiful sight to see while visiting the Chugach National Forest in Prince William Sound, Alaska but even prettier during the summer when the Dwarf Fireweed blossoms. A fireweed plant full of blossoms decorates the base of Coxe Glacier where it grows out of the rocky landscape.
The glacier ice clings to the steep rocky cliffs but every year during the summer, small sections of the glacier breaks away. The water at the base of the glacier is were the cold water runs creating some moisture for the fireweed plants.
