While feeding on a carcass of a Bowhead Whale along the coastline of the Beaufort Sea, the cubs and the mother Polar Bear listen for unusual sounds and keep their eyes peeled for any danger. The cubs stand on their hind legs, showing their teeth, while the mother continues watching as the human predators approach closer to the whale carcass.
Human hunters are the only fear of Polar Bears and while feasting on this whale carcass, the mother will protect her family. Even Polar Bear cubs are not a source to be reckoned with as they can be extremely dangerous, but a full grown adult is much larger and more powerful. A female can weigh up to 700 pounds and stand at a height of six to eight feet.
