A beautifully carved statue of a Bald Eagle perched atop a mix of antlers and an old wagon wheel outside of a historic log cabin at Pioneer Park in Fairbanks, Alaska. Around the base of the statue, bright red flowers blossom in the summer sun where visitors can sit and relax on the park bench.
Pioneer Park was created in 1965-1966 and opened in 1967 as the Centennial exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of when Alaska was purchased from Russia. In the reconstructed buildings at Pioneer Park, visitors will find an assortment of museums, statues, carvings, shops, galleries, theaters and various other interesting attractions.
This statue was originally situated in downtown Fairbanks, but was moved to Pioneer Park where it can be viewed by many of the visitors who come to this popular tourist attraction.
