Global warming is causing major havoc in the Arctic and in this picture, the Nizina Glacier located in Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park and Preserve in Alaska, USA is a prime example. Icebergs are slowly melting along the coastal shores of Alaska, USA affecting the landscape and the Arctic animals who rely on bitterly, cold climates as a means of survival.
The ice on this glacier flows from the high snow covered landscape of Regal Mountain at 13,845 feet, terminating in Nizina Lake. The Nizina Glacier forms the headwaters of the Nizina River and is one of the significant headwaters of the Copper River.
Every year, the Nizina Glacier in Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park and others in the area are melting faster than they have in previous years, a sure sign of global warming.
