A family of musk ox stay close together as they wander across the Autumn tundra in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, USA. With the calf in the center of his parents, the trio stands on the hillside checking out the area for any sign of danger.
This gathering is a very common sight in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as adult females, the younger animals and some males live in social groups year round. The male muskox is much larger in size and easily to tell apart from the females.
