The aerial view while soaring above Mount Spurr in Alaska, USA is spectacular as the landscape made up of the snow covered rugged mountain range extends for miles while the central volcanic cone of Mount Spurr steams. Mount Spurr is a stratovolcano located in the northeastern end of the Aleutian Volcanic Arc of Alaska, USA which has two vents, the summit and nearby Crater Peak.
The main summit has not recorded any signs of eruption in over 10,000 years but Crater Peak erupted in 1953 and in 1992 leading to the fallout of ash making its way 81 miles east to the Municipality of Anchorage. The activity on Crater Peak is still very closely watched due to different movements atop Mount Spurr and while flying above, the mountain range is breathtaking.
