Surrounded by the yellow hues of the Autumn colored Cottonwood trees, a moose antler totem is on display in the historic mining community of Wiseman in the Central Brooks Range, Alaska. Wiseman has a population of approximately 20 people, a beautiful town founded by gold miners who left the Slate Creek settlement around 1919. Wilderness is within steps away and most of the local residents rely on hunting as a source of food.
