An aerial view of the beautiful colors of Megeik Lake surrounded by the landscape of the Valley of 10000 Smokes in Alaska, USA created by the 1912 eruption of Mt. Novarupta. After the eruption, lakes and underground waterways were mixing with the hot ash from the volcano which created smoke to seep through the crevasses.
Bus tours are eight hours in duration where you will be taken on a 46 mile adventure through the Valley of 10000 Smokes with the alternative being a short flight above the entire landscape. During the summer months, many hikers will venture through the backcountry of the valley, with Megeik Lake providing some excellent trails.
