An elderly couple enjoy to spend time along the Kenai River in Soldotna in Southcentral, Alaska fishing for salmon which has been a success on this particular day. The gentleman holds up his beautiful Silver (Coho) Salmon which he caught from the banks of the Kenai River.
The Kenai River is 80 miles in length with an wide array of spectacular fishing opportunities some which include Pink Salmon, King Salmon, Red Salmon, Silver Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Steelhead. The largest king salmon caught in the Kenai River was in 1985 when it weighed in at 97 pounds and 4 ounces.
Many people visiting or residing in Soldotna spend their time fishing, some from the banks of the Kenai River with others venture out in a boat.
