A King Salmon caught by a woman in the Kenai River in Alaska, USA aboard one of the fishing charters. This King Salmon weighs in at sixty-seven pounds which is over half of the size of which they can grow to, some weighing up to one hundred and twenty pounds. The typical size of the King Salmon is between twenty-five and fifty pounds, so this woman is very proud of her catch.
Of the five different species of salmon which make their way through the Alaska rivers, the King Salmon is the largest but not as easy to find as the others. The largest King Salmon caught in sport fishing in the Kenai River weighted ninety-seven pounds in 1985.
