As this juvenile Bald Eagle takes flight above the cold water of Kachemak Bay in Homer, Alaska in the USA, the speckled plumage on this youngster is easily noticed. When the juvenile matures and reaches approximately three years of age, the feathers will darken and become one solid colour making it a fair bit easier to recognize the fact that it is a Bald Eagle.
