Fireweed decorates the side of Richardson Highway in Thompson Pass, Alaska during the summer months as the beautiful snow covered Chugach Mountains create a stunning backdrop. The scenery along this highway is spectacular as the mountains shining in the sunlight span one side and colorful flora grows wild on the other.
Fireweed is a flora which spreads rapidly in clear or burned areas but can sometimes be seen in solitary patches throughout the forests. The radiant color of this flora is beautiful against the lush green hues of the highway landscape.
