In the wilderness of Yellowstone National Park in the USA, many species of wildlife roam free and kill their prey as a means of food and survival. A Gray Wolf stands over a Elk which has recently been killed by its pack while keeping a close eye on the camera. A small flock of birds gather around to see if they can sneak a quick meal in as the human's have distracted the Gray Wolf for a short period of time.
The Gray Wolf is the largest wild canine reaching a height of about 3 feet and a length of about five feet which includes their tail. Being carnivores, their main food supply is moose, elk, caribou and any animals related to the deer family from which they can eat approximately 22 pounds of meat at one sitting.
