The cold begins to take over the landscape as winter nears along the Denali Highway in Alaska, USA where this colorful picture of plants and shrubs blanketed with frost was taken. The Vaccinium, showing off its red hues grows amongst the heather and moss as leaves from the trees have fallen, all which become cold and frosted as the temperatures drop.
The Denali Highway is a beautiful drive where the landscape is one of rustic wilderness and beauty. At one time, the Denali Highway was the only way into Denali National Park until the George Parks Highway was constructed. The Denali Highway is nearly all gravel with many rough spots, but well worth the drive to see the amazing scenery. These plants and shrubs are just a small portion of what the Denali Highway in Alaska, USA has to offer.
