Granite spires rise from the rocky landscape which make up parts of the Arrigetch Peaks Range in the Gates of the Arctic National Park in Alaska, USA. During the Fall, the landscape changes in color, as the shrubbery shows off its yellow and brown hues.
Situated in the Central Brooks Range of northern Alaska, the Arrigetch Peaks reach approximately 6,000 feet in height above the glacier sculpted valleys. Many backpackers explore the Arrigetch Peaks every year on routes designed for intermediate hikers, while others attempt to climb the steep slopes of the Arrigetch Peaks.
While hiking across this landscape, be sure to watch for various types of wildlife such as moose, wolves, black and grizzly bears, caribou or Dall Sheep. Fall is one of the prettiest time of year to travel through the Gates of the Arctic National Park as the landscape is a picture of brilliant colors.
