The mine was altered into a tourists destination where kids and adults enjoy themselves while searching for gold.

The mine operation is run by a couple who will show you how gold panning was done in the early years and how people do it today. There is gold to be found, but it is not as easy as it looks and only a few people who come to visit will leave the El Dorado Gold Mine with gold flakes big enough to turn into pieces of jewelery.
