On the tidal influenced wetlands of the Eklutna Flats in Alaska, USA, various species of wildflowers blossom during the spring. Across the landscape, two purple Iris grow upright to about 15-25 centimeters when the flowers blossom with a group of pink Shooting Star flowers in full bloom below them.
The Iris thrives in full sun and in soil that is well drained but still fairly moist and usually blossoms in June. The Shooting Star wildflowers are a beautiful pink hue which will rise to a height of anywhere between 5 and 40 centimeters. On the top of each plant, there is a cluster of flowers of between 1 and 25 which blossom anywhere from April to August depending on the climate across the Eklutna Flats in Alaska.
The Eklutna Flats are a flat open region with beautiful views of the Matanuska Valley with the Chugach Mountains surrounding it. Various species of wildflowers flourish across this landscape and decorate the area with a mixture of vibrant colors.
