In the backdrop, the mountains remain scattered with snow while the water in Disenchantment Bay in Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park in Alaska, USA is dotted with small icebergs. Along the shores of Disenchantment Bay, the remaining chunks of ice sparkle in the lighting, slowly melting as the temperatures warm up.
The peacefulness of this wilderness is one which is hard to find and the beauty of the bay is breathtaking creating a paradise for photographers. Disenchantment Bay extends southwest for 10 miles from the mouth of Russell Fiord to Point Latouche and is a scenic place for kayakers while making their way through the icebergs.
Hubbard Glacier is located at the head of Yakutat Bay in Disenchantment Bay, a leisurely cruise amongst the small icebergs and glacial blue water. The bay can quickly become blocked from the flow of icebergs as the tide changes, leaving one trapped in this wilderness region of Alaska.
