As the train with the Alaska Railroad pulls into the train depot in Denali National Park in Alaska, USA, people wait for passengers to disembark or to climb aboard for the next leg of the adventure. The Denali Train Depot is located at about the 1.25 mile marker on the Denali National Park road with operating hours being from the middle of May until the middle of September.
The Alaska Railroad travels from Fairbanks, Alaska to Denali National Park and onboard the train, there is a full service dining car and a gift shop. The train leaves Fairbanks at 8:15 a.m. and arrives at the Denali Train Depot at noon. The return trip departs at 3:45 from Denali, leaving very little time for tourists wanting to explore the area.
Many who ride the Alaska Railroad will spend the night in the park to fully enjoy Denali so that the trip does not seem so rushed. Either way, the scenery while onboard the train is breathtaking and the sound of the train racing along the track is unforgettable.
