Overlooking the beauty of Denali National Park in Alaska, USA, a Dall Sheep becomes the "King of the Mountain" where he stands atop a rocky peak. The high mountain ranges are where the Dall Sheep likes to reside and climbing is something they are very good at as they use this as a means to escape predators. Many animals would never make it to the top of this rocky peak but the Dall Sheep can reach great heights where they scan the area for any danger.
Throughout Denali National Park, there are about 2,500 Dall Sheep all which tend to stay in the high mountain regions. To easily make their way over the rocky terrain and to make climbing easier, they have a rough pad on the bottom of their two-toed widely spread hooves.
The Dall Sheep rams live in bands and do not mingle with any ewes until mating season approaches in November and December. The larger the horns are on the rams the more dominance they have amongst their peers.
