Churchill Manitoba Wildlife Picture Hudson Bay Polar Bear

Much of the wildlife around the Hudson Bay in Churchill, Manitoba wait for the onset of winter, one main species being the Polar Bear.

As a Polar Bear roams across the top of the rocky landscape near the shores of the Hudson Bay in Churchill, Manitoba, the blue waters in the background begin to freeze over. Patches of ice slowly start to blanket the surface of the rock cliffs giving this Polar Bear hope that a good meal of ringed seal and colder temperatures are not far off.

The highlight for tourists visiting Churchill, Manitoba are the Polar Bears but many other types of wildlife cross this frozen tundra during the winter. Other species to look for on land are the Arctic foxes, ptarmigans and caribou while belugas and seals can be seen in the cold, blue water of the Hudson Bay.
