The joy on the faces of two children who have snagged a large lake trout out of Big Lake in the Central Brooks Range in Alaska, USA while fishing on a beautiful summer day. The lake trout is a species of fish belonging to the char family and are usually found in large, deep, cold lakes like Big Lake in the Central Brooks Range. They prefer water which ranges from 40 to 52 degrees farenheit.
Lake trout averages about 10 pounds in weight and about 15-20 inches in length but there have been reports of these type of fish exceeding 50 pounds. Some are light green or grey in coloring, while others are brown with lighter colored spots.
When children are fishing, catching any type of fish is always exciting, but these two have definitely caught themselves a beauty.
