Two bull moose are rarely seen feeding this close together during rutting season as this is the time of year when they are showing their dominance over the females. While these bull moose are feeding, we were able to capture a good profile picture showing their humped appearance and their muscular shoulders. The antlers continue to grow in preparation for any misunderstandings which may lay ahead.
As they feed off the wilderness landscape in Chugach State Park in Anchorage, Alaska, they keep one eye on the photographer and the other on their food. Although a moose has poor eyesight, their hearing and senses are extremely good which makes up for their lack of vision.
Alaska. Anchorage. Parallel Moose (Alces alces) Bulls. Its unusual for rutting bull moose to tolerate close contact without fighting.
