The Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline runs for about 800 miles from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez, Alaska and near this section along the James Dalton Highway in the Central Brooks, Range, a Bull Moose roams free. The Autumn colors of the landscape are the ideal camouflage for this Moose as he searches for vegetation to feed on.
The young moose will grow to be about 6 - 7 feet high at the shoulder and will weigh between 600-800 pounds. His antlers are just beginning to grow and on a mature Bull Moose, they can reach between 3.9 and 4.9 feet.
