On a clear day, an aerial view of Blackstone Bay and Blackstone Glacier in the Chugach Mountains in Prince William Sound, Alaska is stunning. The snow covered mountain peaks tower above Blackstone Bay as a single cloud floats aimlessly above with thicker ones lingering across the top of the mountain ridges.
Prince William Sound is one of the best kayaking locations in Alaska with Blackstone Bay being approximately 22 miles on water south of Whittier. In the bay, there are several tidewater glaciers where icebergs calf and waterfalls cascade from incredible heights, all which is surrounded by a natural wilderness landscape.
In and around the waters of Blackstone Bay, visitors will often spot whales, porpoises, eagles, otters, harbour seals, black bears and various species of seabirds.
