Along the Main Street in Skagway, Alaska, tourists will find this unique historic building which is now home to the Skagway Convention and Visitors Bureau. When this building was first erected, it was a hall used for the Arctic Brotherhood.
The Arctic Brotherhood, was a fraternal organization of pioneers throughout Alaska and the Yukon and members who belonged, built this masterpiece. On the facade of the building, a false front was made out of nearly 9,000 pieces of driftwood and flotsam collected from the beaches, but after many years, restorations were needed.
When visiting Skagway, Alaska, be sure to stop by this hall to see the unique architecture of the building.
