For many the thought of Alaska conjures up images of snow, ice, and the cold, but this beautiful wilderness dubbed the Last Frontier is so much more.
In reality, the scenic state of Alaska should conjure up images of towering snow-capped mountain peaks with forest carpeted foothills and meadows blanketed in colorful wildflowers during the summer. Not to mention the beautiful scenic river valleys and lakes fringed by extensive hiking trails, the midnight sun, ancient glaciers, or the dramatic show of northern lights.
Each season brings with it renewal and a fresh start with new scenes. Fall is a transitional season of dramatic color while winter sure is cold in Alaska but the scenery is exquisite - trees caked in snow after being blasted by the wind, icy nights when the northern lights are at their best as they dance in the sky, waterfalls frozen in place to become dramatic cascades of ice.
Spring is a beautiful season of new growth, colorful blooms, and fresh air, plus the spring melt - frozen rivers, waterfalls and snowfields release crystal clear water - a life blood of Alaska. As spring phases into summer the lush green pastures, scenic reflective lakes, and shiny coastal flats bath in the warmth of the summer sun.
