Nicely laid out along the wooden plank, an assortment of brightly colored salmon flies which are used by fishermen who spend their time fishing in the waters of Alaska. These lures are part of the equipment needed while salmon fishing, but the lures are not what makes a good fishermen.

The salmon flies displayed in this picture are known as flash flies, egg-sucking leeches and fuchia bunnies. The flash flies can sometimes make the difference in provoking a steelhead or salmon to bite, especially when they have right red or orange colors attached to the flash. The egg-sucking leeches are other popular flies which are extremely effective during the steelhead spawn. The fuchia bunnies are a great attractor for salmon (except for sockeyes) with pink and cherise being the best colors for these flies.
