Alaska Highway Wildflowers Chugach Mountains

Wildflowers grow freely along the side of the Richardson Highway in Alaska, USA as the Chugach Mountains create a picturesque scene on the opposite side.

While driving along the Richardson Highway in Alaska, USA, Thompson Pass is a very picturesque place to stop and capture a few pictures. With the snow capped peaks of the Chugach Mountains sparkling in the sunlight on one side of the highway and beautiful wildflowers flourishing on the other, the area is filled with beauty.

Rugged mountains, colorful wildflowers, green valleys, rivers, ponds and marshes are all part of the scenery along the Richardson Highway. The drive from Glennallen to Valdez is approximately two hours, but the spectacular scenery and the many stops could make this trip much longer.
