Port Alcan is the port of entry for many visitors to the United States which is located at milepost 1,221.8 on the Alaska Highway. There is a border crossing here which stops all traffic entering Alaska where they must be cleared by a Customs and Border Protection officer before continuing on.
The border crossing is opened 24 hours a day throughout the year and the welcome sign is the start of a memorable Alaskan vacation.
