An abandoned truck has been left along the Yukon River in Alaska, USA and during the cold winter, the windows have been broken and snow begins to fill the interior. Through the windows of the abandoned truck, a musher and his sled dog team pass by during the sunrise hours while racing in the 2005 Iditarod near Anvik, Alaska in the USA.
A checkpoint is located in Anvik, Alaska where the mushers and dogs rejuvenate themselves and continue on during the first light at sunrise. Cold winds can whip across the landscape of the Yukon River creating extremely chilly temperatures for these mushers and their dog sled teams during the Iditarod.
Of the 25 checkpoints along the Iditarod trail, Anvik, Alaska is one of them and the first one along the Yukon River. Between 55-75 mushers partake in the Iditarod and this team is just one of them which bypasses this abandoned truck.
This abandoned truck has been sitting on this frozen landscape for some time as the interior of the truck dates itself. Old dials, gauges and the steering wheel show their age with their simplified display.
