When reaching 100 Mile House in British Columbia, Canada while traveling the Alaska Highway, be sure to stop and explore the 108 Mile Road House. The Road House was built in 1867 by William Roper as he thought he would run a good business and cater to travelers passing through.
Roper sold it, and many buyers bought it over the years, each one making changes by adding new buildings and tearing down others with their own ideas. There are years of history at the 108 Mile Road House and in 1999, the buildings which were burnt or destroyed were replaced to their original state and it is now open to tourists where they will find a museum and many interesting facts on this Heritage Site.
